1. I can't say it with a straight face.

- staright face : 정색한 얼굴, 시치미 떼며

 

1. I can't lie with a straight face in front of the teacher! 선생님 앞에서 시치미 떼며 거짓말 못하겠어!

2. It's hard to keep a straight face when someone tells a funny joke. 누군가 재미있는 농담을 했을 때, 정색하기란 어렵다. 

3. The couple cut in line with a straight face. 그 커플을 시치미를 떼며 새치기했다.

4. I cannot tell my boss that he is handsome with a straight face.  

 

 

2. By now, you figured out that I move around quite frequently.

- by now : 지금쯤, 이미

 

1. My husband had read my fake suicide note by now. 지금쯤이면 남편이 내 가짜 유서를 읽었다. 

2. They would arrive in Seoul by now. 그들은 지금쯤 서울에 도착했을 거야

3. Jenny went to the concert. By now she is jumping and shouting there. 제니는 콘서트에 갔어. 지금쯤 뛰고, 소리치고 있을 거야. 

 

 

3. I know more about vans than I ever care to or ever will. - 나는 van 에 대해 쓸데없이 박식하다. 

(You know a lot about Vans, but you actually don't care about it. It's too much unnecessary information about Vans. = I know more about vans than I ever need to know or even want to know. )

- I ever care to or ever will : 좋아서 혹은 하고 싶다기보다는, 필요 이상으로, 쓸데없이 (부정적인 의미로 쓰인다)

- I ever care to : 내 인생 사는데 곧이 몰라도 될 부분들까지 (원치는 않았지만 상황이 이렇다보니 이렇게까지 하게 됨.)

- ever will : 평생 공부해야할 분량

 

1. I've known you more than I ever care to. 나는 필요 이상으로 너를 더 오래 알고 지냈다.

2. I've worked with you more than I ever care to. 나는 필요 이상으로 너와 함께 일했다. 

3. I know more about my husband than I ever care to or ever will. 나 남편에 대해 필요 이상으로 알아. 

4. I worked overtime more than I ever care to or ever will. 나 필요 이상으로 초과 근무했어. 

5. My mother prepared my birthday party more than she ever cares to or ever will. 엄마는 필요 이상으로 내 생일 파티를 준비했다.
