1. We're freshening up.

- freshening up : 꾸미다, 멋 부리다

 

1. I am willing to freshen up for your birthday party. 네 생일 파티를 위해서 기꺼이 꾸며줄게. 

2. I was about to freshen up when you called me. 네가 전화했을 때 나 막 꾸미려고 했어. 

3. Is she freshening up? 그녀는 멋 부린 거니? 

4. Do you consider that freshening up? You look completely normal. 너 꾸민 거야? 너 그냥 평소처럼 보이는데.. 

 

 

 

2. See what the day has in store.

- in store : ~에게 닥치려 하고, 기다리고 (It will happen to you or to someone in the future.)

 

1. I chose not to continue accountancy because my future is unsure. But I don't know maybe there is something in store for me. 나는 미래가 불확실해서 회계를 계속하지 않기로 했어. 그렇지만 거기에 나를 위한 뭔가가 있을지도 모르지. (확신할 수 없지만)

2. When my husband have me over at the hotel, I thought there is something in store for me. 남편이 나를 호텔로 초대했을 때, 나를 위한 무언가가 있다고 생각했다. (확신할 수 없지만)

3. You are working so hard at your position. I think promotion is in store for you in the future. 너는 네 위치에서 열심히 일해. 너는 승진할 거라고 나는 생각해. (certainly)

4. Tomorrow is my birthday so I am thinking of a big surprise in store for me. 내일이 내 생일이라서 큰 선물이 있을 거라고 기대하는 중이야. 

5. They think it’ll be easy but they have a surprise in store. 그들은 그것이 쉬울 것이라고 생각하지만 깜짝 놀랄 일이 준비되어 있다.

6. We have some surprises in store for you. 너를 놀래 줄 일이 있어.

3. Train is running behind schedule.

- running behind : 일정에 늦은, ~보다 뒤지다 (책임이 들어감)

 

1. I'm running behind on everything. 모든 일이 늦어지고 있어.

2. They're running behind the problem all the time. 그들은 언제나 그 문제에 있어서 뒤처져 있다.

3. They are running way behind. 그들이 많이 늦어지고 있어요. 

4. What are you doing with your project? You are running behind schedule. 너 프로젝트 뭐 하는 거야? 너 일정보다 늦어지고 있어. 

 

- running late : 늦은, 지각하는 (늦을 수도 있는 상황)

 

1. All the trains are running late. 모든 기차들이 연착되고 있다. 

2. Running late for class. : 수업에 늦었어. 

3. The doctor is running late this morning. 의사 선생님이 오늘 아침에 늦으실 거예요.
