[English Class] 10/1 I've seen better, piss off, goof off, stinking

 

1. A : I just got my hair cut at the worst barber shop. What do you think?

   B : I've seen better for sure. 

* I've seen better : a noncommittal and not very positive judgment about something or someone. 

쓰임)  P+N : a positive judgement + a negative judgement (I've seen better)

          N+N : a negative judgement + a negative judgement (I've seen better)

A : I've seen the K-dramas and they are actually wonderful. 나 한국드라마 봤는데 정말 멋졌어. 

B : Oh really? I think I've seen better. 정말? 난 좀 아쉬워(다른 더 좋은 드라마가 있다)

A : Isn't he handsome? 쟤 잘생기지 않았니?

B : I've seen better. 난 더 나은 사람 봤어.

A : This is the best sand I experienced. 이건 내가 경험한 최고의 모래야. 

B : I've seen much better beaches in my country. 나 우리 나라에서 훨씬 더 좋은 해변 봤어.

2. If I was anyone else I'm sure they would be pissed. 

* piss sb off : 열받게 하다, rude slang,  very disgruntled, angry, or outraged. 

 

1. My supervisor didn’t say a word, but she looked kinda pissed. 상사가 아무 말도 안 했지만, 조금 화난 것 같았어.

2. I’m so pissed off right now. 나 지금 완전 열 받았어.

3. I was pissed out of my mind when he yelled at me. 그가 소리를 질렀을 때 나는 무척 화났어. 

 

 

 

3. We just enjoyed chatting and just goofing off.

* goof off : (할 일을 안하고) 빈둥거리다, to avoid doing any work

 

1. Don't you see him goofing off? 그 사람 농땡이 치는 거 못 봤어요?

2. Whenever I saw him, he was goofing off with his girlfriend. 내가 그를 볼 때마다 그는 여자친구와 빈둥거리고 있었다.

3. I also scheduled time for employees to just goof off together. 그리고 직원들이 함께 모여 여유 있게 쉴 수 있는 시간도 마련했습니다.

 

 

 

4. You're so stinking cute.

* stinking : 엄청나게, 무척

* stink : 악취, 악취가 나다
